Feeling meh?

Over the years I have been asked many times by people what to do when they feel kinda flat. Like their life is going, but they don’t feel passion or purpose. Just kinda meh.

My answer is generally the same for everyone.

Start thinking about others. And by others I don’t mean your husband or family, people you already think of. I mean strangers.

Start volunteering, helping out, saying a kind word to the cashier or car wash guy.

The longer you’ve felt flat, the more involved to get.  To turn around a flat week might only be a few random acts of kindness, but if it’s months and years, then committing to a volunteer project may be needed.

This does two things. When you help raise the quality of others’ lives, you bring in the energy of raising the quality of your own life.

And, by doing different things with different people, all kinds of new opportunities and new thoughts happen. Your mind starts to see new connections and new ways of thinking.

Because we know having the same thoughts while feeling flat isn’t going to get you out of it.

So shake things up from a place of giving AND see the results in your own life.
